Whole Wheat Sugar Cookies

Recently I needed flour so I went ahead and picked up whole wheat instead of the other. (Thought I would be a little "healthier") Well, I made some sugar cookies with whole wheat flour and really enjoyed them. If you double the recipe and use regular flour they are great for Holiday Icing Cookies.


oven 350
1 stick butter
1/2 cup powered sugar
1/2 sugar
1/4 teas. salt
1 egg
1/2 oil
1 teas. vanilla
1/2 teas. baking soda
1/2 teas. cream of tartar
2 1/2 cups of whole wheat flour
(maybe a little more to be able to roll into balls)

press ball top into loose sugar
flatten with small cup
bake 10-12 minutes till set
don't over bake!
poor glass of milk and enjoy
