This past week we had the blessing of reviewing Entrusted with Arrows for our blog and were able to view a slightly shortened version online. Thank you MovieMakers!
This is wonderful documentary film about Homeschool Fathers praying and taking the initiative to start a home business. In turn, they saw the fruit of being able to be involved more in their children's lives. A Pastor, Christian Educator, and Land Surveyor were of the few. They all had beautiful testimonies on how God led them to take this step of faith. A statistic that opened my eyes in the film: "American children spend less than 10 minutes of meaning conversation with their parents each day... remove the mother the statistic is down to seconds." It was such a blessing to see in Gods timing how doors were opened for these fathers and the effect it had on their families. The film did such a good job of NOT making a "cookie cutter" out of all the family examples. God has made us all unique! :)
I know not every father is in a position to do this, nor has the skills to "make a home business" but it did encourage me to look for teachable moments not only to serve together as a family, but work together as a family to save money. Hard work and economics are great homeschooling subjects! (So often it is my kids wanting to start even a lemonade stand and I am not motivated!) Too, I know it encouraged Sean to make every moment count with his children!!
It definite is worth watching for ANY homeschool family.. You will be encouraged, not condemned.

"Unless the LORD builds the house, its builders labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the watchmen stand guard in vain. In vain you rise early and stay up late, toiling for food to eat-- for he grants sleep to those he loves. Sons are a heritage from the LORD, children a reward from him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are sons born in one's youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their enemies in the gate."
