Bash and the Pirate Pig {Children's Book Review & GIVEAWAY!}

I absolutely loved doing this review and giveaway for you!
Why? Because my 11 and 12 year old kiddos are sharing their thoughts and opinions.
How cool is that?

Although this book is geared for boys 8-14, Lydia (11yrs old) had no problem reading it after her brother. It is a fast paced simple read, even though it is 224 pages.

So...
About Bash and the Pirate Pig-

"Bash and the Pirate Pig, by Burton Cole, is the story of a cranky city kid named Raymond "Beamer" Boxby who must spend summer vacation at his younger cousin, Bash's, farm.

Beamer prefers air conditioning and video games. He can't see what good can come of this so-called country fun that includes riding cows, river rafting with a pig, or playing with skunks.

Beamer, because Bash's zany adventures with his "Fishin' and Farmin' book" (The Bible) just might lead to the coolest discovery of all."

Both my kids had very similar opinions. Points they both made:
  • Relevant to younger kids
  • VERY funny
  • Kept their interest
  • Bash was their favorite character
  • You will look forward to reading the "Sunday School" chapter. :)
Please note parents- My children are very honest and even came to me during their reading. In the story, the city kid "Beamer" is not a christian (at the beginning) and his bad attitude is displayed. Smaller slang words like "stupid" are used. My children are not allowed to use these words in our home. Yet in the book it gives a great contrast with with what a godly attitude should be and has Bible scriptures throughout. There is also a great Parent Connection section in the back to engage with them after the read.

If you think your children would like an easy humorous read with great illustrations, please enter the Rafflecopter Giveaway below! New books are always a fun treat :D

Bash and the Pirate Pig can also be purchased for only $12.99 at BH Publishing Group.
