The God First Life by Stovall Weems {Book Review & Giveaway!}

"Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well."
Matthew 6:33

The God-First Life actually surprised me.

Before I excepted the review I looked up who Stovall Weems was and what church he pastored. There are many mega church/seeker friendly churches out there and the last thing I wanted to do was read a book written by a man who encourages his flock to "following your heart" or teaches the "prosperity gospel".

I imagine Weems writes very similar to how he preaches. It is very relatable, honest, and clear. His approach spells out how simple it is to surrender to a Christ centered life.  He gives many personal applications to each exhortation. What I love about The God-First Life? He brings the reader back to Gods words through out every chapter. Thank you Weems!

There were only a small handful of Weem's thoughts I didn't quite agree with, but nothing unscriptural. Certainly not enough to encourage you not to read the book.
He is very straightforward and it is healthy to get a good shove in the right direction!

We constantly bombard ourselves with a Me-First life and we leave God out of the equation completely all while calling ourselves a Christian. On a personal thought, I think it is sad but true that we need a book called God-First Life! The "blessings" of our culture; material, wealth, entertainment hinder us from knowing God.
If you are taking a missions trip to a poverty, persecuted, war stricken country (like Sudan), I wouldn't recommend this book- only Gods word. Yet, for American Christians it is a good wake up call! :) As Weems encouraged, "it will help you connect all those dots with your walk with God"

This would even be a perfect discipleship book to those who have just come to know the Lord. Below is a quick video from Stoval Weems, please read and see his heart behind the book!

Giveaway will end in ONE WEEK~ on the book's release date, March 25th!!

About God-First Life: Uncomplicate Your Life, God's Way-
A simple and sustainable path to a deep and satisfying walk with Christ There are thousands of how-to books for improving various areas of life---self, relationships, finances, fitness, business, marriage, family. And there are nearly as many books written for believers offering a framework for the 'right' approach to a new life in God. What if it were possible, Pastor Stovall Weems asks,to boil it all down to one practical, un-complicated principle that would yield the vibrant, purposeful spiritual life so many are looking for? What if, in our relationship with God, we had one simple and sustainable touch point to experience a deep and satisfying walk with Christ? In The God-First Life, Weems shows that true success in our walk with God and in life in general is not an issue of need, but an issue of order. Brilliantly unpacking the simple Scripture in Matthew 6:33, Weems gives a fresh and practical perspective on what Christian 'discipleship' is about. Bringing clarity, depth, and simplicity, Pastor Weems makes clear core truths that have been misunderstood by many Christians and non-Christians alike.
